Another lot relying on the stupidity of the public then. How much good is a solar panel going to be compared to the energy needed to move a tonne and a half of stuff? It might even take more power to move the extra weight around than it is likely to contribute.

Agreed. Plus the cost/complexity. Joe public massively underestimates the amount of power a solar panel mounted on a car can produce, and massively underestimates the amount of energy required to move a car around...

Useful if you can get a rooftop space at the airport multistory while you spend your 14-nights in Benidorm, but otherwise:

Re - the PV.

I don’t suppose they are particularly targeting that on UK buyers? There are locations where this could make a reasonable contribution? Los Angeles, for one? Maybe southern Spain, North Africa? Certainly closer to the Equator than the UK. Still a bit of a gimmick, but who am I to disprove the designers?

Since when was “Subaru” a badge to stick on someone else’s car? They’re famous for being different to everyone else. Their cars were genuine engineering masterpieces. My old legacy with its 3L 6-cylinder boxer engine really could do anything, in any conditions. Sad times.

Sounds similar to SWMBO previous car being a Toyota IQ. Aston Martin bought some and changed them into the Cygnet and doubled the selling price but it was a disaster for them. I have to say for an ICE car it was a very fun car to drive.
