Co Charger App - Anyone signed up!

Has anyone else signed up to Co Charger, as a Host or even used it as a Chargee to enable those with no off road parking to charge up safely/regularly and within walking distance of their home. If so, how has it worked for you?

I had a quick look at it and it seems very basic. For example. it does not measure the electricity used but estimates by the EV owner giving the start and end % of charge and the battery size, ignoring inefficiencies in charging.

Around where I live, the council have installed lots of lamppost chargers and that seems a better way to go.

Have to agree the system appears fairly basic and if you have lamposts as charging points the issue of charging is less of an issue providing you can find one available.
When ever I suggest EV's as a means of going greener many people are only to keen to bring out all the negatives they can and one of them being "What about all those people living in terrrace houses with no off road facilities."
We are fortunate enough to have a drive and charger while just behind us is a road where not all properties are so fortunate. I signed up several months ago but had no response until I popped leaflets through properties nearby with no driveway garage etc and had a very appreciative response from one guy who was totally unaware of option. Anyway he came round and charged this morning with no problem. The App handles the money side so it will be interesting to see how that pans out. For now I'll just log his consumption and see what materialises.
It may not be perfect but it is a good starting point which is in the early stages of development. As we are neighbours and each of us want it to work then I'm hoping any anomalies such as that between charge delivered and charge received can be amicably arrived at. It is the host who sets the hourly charge rate so if there are discrepencies then I can altered it to take these into account. With energy prices soaring I'll have to address the hourly charge rate anyway.
Have to agree it would better if the actual figure of kWh's delivered was what the finances were based on rather than the vagary state of charge etc.

I think it's a great concept - it probably just needs a much bigger marketing budget to make people more aware of it more widely.

I signed up some time back but haven't had anyone contact me via that route.

I have however had a few people charge (including one regular) after finding me on ZapMap.

You can submit yourself as a chargepoint to Zap-Map at this webpage

https://www.zap-map.com/add-new-charge-point/

I've noticed quite a few people have done that, for example with PodPoint Home devices.

I have a flat rate of £5 which is based on not being out of pocket on my current electricity day tariff and up to 4 hours of charging.

If anyone wants to charge longer, we negotiate a price - either on time or per kWh taken (which my charger will tell me).

I'll also have to revisit when my Octopus Go tariff renews in March (gulp!).

Thanks both for the link and further info, I'll be checking it out, although I will be focussing on those who live locally without off road charging. I guess that as we are in a seaside resort, end of the line, there maybe daytrippers interested as an alternate to public chargers!
GT, £5 is a very reasonable price for four hours on a 7kW charger. Don't think you could in any way be accused of profiteering at that rate!

How many takers so far?
