BEV Trucks and EU Carrots and Sticks

Couple of short articles looking at EU legislation which should massively aid BEV truck rollout, and also an embedded link to a factsheet stuffed with info - including confirmation of something I read in a Tesla quarterly report, that an additional weight allowance will apply to BEV trucks, so even at max weight (which is not common) they will not loose out on load income.

These various measures should massively swing market forces in favour of BEV's, dare I say today, but hopefully at the very least, the Osborne Effect will put off new ICEV purchases for those able to delay buying for a while as BEV production and choice ramps up.

There does seem to be quite a lot of movement in the BEV truck area now - I know Tesla still hasn't started making their Semi, but since their unveiling of it a few years back quite a few other existing truck manufacturers have started putting out BEV HGVs of various sizes. Obviously would be better if the long-haul freight went first via electric rail, and then the local distribution stuff was then done by BEV trucks and vans. Hey, maybe in a joined-up future that might still happen!

Who has considered the reality of international transport by BET (Battery Electric Truck)?

I can foresee some difficulty with charging arrangements…..
