Tyre Extinguishers (The air removal experts)

I'm amazed that plod who these days don't turn up for burglaries are actually "looking" for them due to 3 reports in Cambridge for criminal damage.

No tyre slashing just valve pressing, the point they utilise being that SUV's in dense urban environs are "unnecessary & pure vanity"

(As reported in the Cambridge news)
https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/c ... s-23334102

Right or wrong? ..& is that based on size, traction, pollution or space?

Apparently a flyer stating "your gas guzzler kills" ..which is more a clue rather than a certainty.

They are also targeting BEV SUV's (reading further down) which if done in the dark may mean error or size alone is enough to get you flattened.

Their site..

I'm not into SUV's I'd prefer fact over fiction which is why after reading I find this erroneous

"Hybrids and electric cars are fair game. We cannot electrify our way out of the climate crisis - there are not enough rare earth metals to replace everyone’s car and the mining of these metals causes suffering. Plus, the danger to other road users still stands, as does the air pollution (PM 2.5 pollution is still produced from tyres and brake pads).
Avoid: Cars clearly used for people with disabilities, traders’ cars (even if they’re large), minibuses and normal-sized cars"

Anyone wanting tos end them some "corrective therapy" to masticate over?

Don't need to tell you guys why!

It was quite clear to me that plod was not reporting that they were actively looking for these idiots. The piece says ‘they have received reports’. A subtle difference. This is no different to receiving a report of a suspected burglary and doing nothing more than log the occurrence.

While both these activities are illegal and should be stopped/prevented (most proven burglers simply have their wrists slapped, told they are naughty and not to do it again - before allowing them to carry on as usual)

However, under-inflated tyres can kill, so these idiots should be prosecuted, if caught.

Thanks for the correction oliver, I can'e even get them to respond proactively to assault to property & self ..but there you go I remain unconvinced, if identified it will likely be deemed an easy collar & clearance by them & the CPS...

Perhaps you know actual competent cops? i'm left prone from their damnable ineptitude & lack of professionalism.

The groups rationale is flawed, likely from general public misinformation consumed (facebook, dumb press reportage etc) esp not considering the "suffering" aspect of say lithium mining mis-reported, the likely fact that BEV owners may well not have another set of brakes over a cars lifetime from motor braking regen & the likes.

What about a big long heavy old volvo estate? ..a big engined Audi, or a dual motor Tesla ? ..all those could be potentially targetted from the same point of big / long / extra big wheels, massive brakes, diesel, or overly & unnecessarily heavy? ..so they are skewed in their agendas perspective.

(yeah they've gotta start somewhere but, ought think further & harder than a 6th form equivalent of Trump)

I'd also like to add (fairly I reckon) that Cambridge city is closely surrounded by countryside, it' not "all or nothing" like "that London" a guy I know who lives n Cambridge (thankfully offroad parking) had a disabled child who in the early stages a larger (smaller LD freelander) was useful for, he used the vehicle for travel to work which was with Network rail in some very rough grounding access terrain at night checking on repair gangs for instance, but likely that would have got them "extinguished"

Folk who live in Cambridge may actually commute outside the city & fen roads can be as ropey as F*** undulating like a choppy sea.
