Sono motors signs manufacturing deal

I'm somewhat surprised they've got this far with a small, relatively low cost BEV as a start-up, but they do seem to be getting close to serial production.
Price has gone up somewhat though, and I still am not convinced that the solar panels they've embedded into the skin will actually be of much use but I guess time will tell?
Wonder if Sono's end-game is actually to get bought up by an OEM like, say, VW or Ford and they'll basically re-badge their car/IP as their own low-cost family hatch model?
