This bit is interesting "what’s especially exciting now is that EV adoption curves in countries more recently passing 10%, 15%, or 20% market share have seen more rapid growth from 2% market share to 10%+ market share than Norway saw when it was making that climb a decade ago."

Your headline is not quite correct.
15% plug ins market share ie including hybrids 12 countries more than 10% BEV.

And the UK is not part of the EU, either, now.🙂

But these figures will only climb as ICE vehicles are phased out…. Just takes time….

The UK seems to be progressing well at around 6% BEV, especially in 2022.

I'm happy to say that we've added a BEV Volvo XC40 to the April tally when it is published.

The quarterly spikes on the "Number of new battery-electric cars registered by month" is quite amusing. Must be down to that company who the SMMT used to class as "other".

Yep, and I assume it will continue with RHD cars coming out of China (not Berlin) so boosting months 2 and 3 of each quarter.

From those charts, looks like the UK could hit 1,000,000 PEV's this year, nice milestone, and 600,000+ BEV's.

Further to my last post, looks like Tesla deliveries to Europe this quarter will be small to zero due to the Covid shutdowns in China during April. Some reports that there are no ships currently on their way. Probably explains why delivery dates for new orders are now estimated as May ....... May 2023. Berlin will presumably help a bit for LHD drive TMY's in Europe.

I have been tentatively looking at a BEV for SWIMBO. The delivery times are huge. Shutdowns in Shanghai affect MG, Tesla, and probably others I am not aware of, VW said 12-18 months for ID4. Kia were Sept onward for EV6 but quicker for Niro. I thought about dumping her relatively new ICE now while prices for 2nd hand are high and getting a Leaf for 6-12 months until the replacement arrives. 13-15 plate 24 kWh Leaf's are £8-9k. Its all bonkers at the moment.

Never liked "last minute" supply chain too many moments at the warehouse door as a kid trying to keep my production line going.

The octopump upgrade & inevitable incoming shortage of parts that has now stomped all over the industry was a gamble that paid off, it was all going to get worse, & then no-one ever thought Vlad "putain" would go as far as he has.

Ripples in supply?
More like labradors thrashing around in the pond.
