Yours look good. I think it depends a lot on the phone and the settings. My Son (15) and I both have Samsung S23, he gets some really great photos. I used night mode, but could would have been better using a tripod as you can see by the stars I wobbled a bit. I did get the tripod out later but by then it wasn't as good. The one here a couple of months ago was much better as it really was very visible to the naked eye.

The last one I posted just above was actually pointing South/East

They’re all glorious in their own ways aren’t they, I tried to explain what was happening to cause the lights to my 6 year old but I was losing the battle when my wife came up to him and said “those are the lights that Santa has in the sky at the North Pole to see what he’s doing at night” to which Henry said “ aw does that mean we are on the good list if he’s sharing them with us ?”

Kids are brilliant how they flex concepts to fit their construct of the world they live in, that’s one I will remember for a very long time 😁

I was also out playing with my camera 😁, being in northumberland gives the advantage of dark skies, although it was clear enough to see quite a bit of colour by eye, especially the red, with structures of the greens also visible, but in greyish
