hello camelot!

#1

Post by diyfan »

Hi, I am and an IT prrofessional of 25 years, based in Northamptonshire. I have many hobbies and interests - IT, electronics, micro-controllers and programming, 3D printing, RC flight (helicopters and fixed wing), electric cars, renewable power and self-sufficiency, crypto mining, photography, pc gaming, running, cycling, canoeing, wild camping... and most recently smart home automation.

diy is my motto and the best way to learn. If I have an idea or see something I like, I try and build it small scale myself and use it. If I get bored and forget it I know I did not need it in a first place. If I cannot stop using it then I would go ahead and scale up. Right now I am scaling up my energy storage and output capacity to complement already maxed out 8KW roof PV system. If all goes to plan I expect the battery and new inverter to pay for itself in less than 5 years! Hope I can get some good advice here and once the project is done then I can give back by sharing my results and experience.
