If you are trying to whittle down your plastics & questionable packaging ..here's an option to look out for.

Meant to mention this before, as far as im aware these are found in "farm foods" stores, hopefully elsewhere too.

for years we have either scrupulously cleaned off the plastic clingfilm type plastic & recycled where possible, or outright rejected packaging based on outdated, unwanted & landfill only styrene foam (pizza express)

The pizzas ARE made in italy, frozen & have a noticeable fired element of favour to their pizza when out of the oven.

card outer, biodegradeable (compostable) film.

No more expensive than a regular pizza, so one that I will present to a few supermarket managers & ask why theirs aren't up to par.
(we tried 2 of their oblong 26 x 38cm varieties)

highly recommended taste & texture as frozen pizzas go.

I only heard about it on R4 on monday morn.

Is it me or are more supermarkets using more NON recyclable material compared to even 2 years back?

Don’t know Gus.

We’ve tried to reduce buying stuff with non-recyclables/plastic, but it is hard - even the local independent shops will wrap stuff in plastic.

We do ‘recycle’ all our soft plastic using the Tesco scheme - how much is properly recycled, I’m unsure. Sure a proportion goes to ‘incineration’. Is this better than landfill/ending up in the ocean ?

Kerbside collection pretty good here - our weekly ‘black bin’ waste fits in the palm of my hand.
