The price for a pick up & disposal of two knackered (but complete) fence panels ..a staggering £140 via the Serco-circus.
Presumably the lady doesn't drive? (Well mk is a heavy on public transport design layout)

£140 is more than the cost of 2 good fence panels.

Reckon that after the furore in the papers someone (her maybe) will smash them & stick them in the green bin / refuse wheelie.

Suffice to say if that is an example of councils offering a decent price to prevent costly fly tipping they are not fit for purpose, ...likely a serco contractual "thing" they (council) could not be bothered to read when signing over public contracts.

DIY shed incinerator time, & get neighbours to complain about smoke, then boomerang the complaint back to the council along the lines of "this or a ridiculous council charge" to talk amongst themselves.

When I was a kid, working summers (still at school) on the council, our bosses would look at worksheets & ask someone (2 man crew) to drop by & pick up as we were down the road, no crazy costs, the skips (dropped off lorry) were in our yard.
Latterly for troublesome estate elsewhere (before every damn house was "given" to a big housing Corp that makes money hand over fist! there was a caged sided truck, mainly due to the fact that particular estate was like the wild west, in part from uprooting Londoners & kicking them into the countryside (much as now) the costly error that sucked the money out of the areas various budgets, so it made sense to snag sofas washing machines etc so as they happened, lest more detritus be added & set fire to.
