fence posts, wood or concreat?

I put up a fence probably 30 years ago and used Denso tape round the base of the wooden posts and up enough to be about a couple of inches above the top of the concrete infill. The fence was removed some 25 years later and the wooden posts were as good as the day they went in.

I think galv angle iron is the way to go, with timber fixed to it clear of the ground
