So the photo which is a still capture from a video is actually a 0.45 calibre Desert Eagle. That was similar to a 0.45 magnum (Dirty Harry gun) I and SWMBO have fired at a gun range in Las Vegas a few years back.
The 0.5 calibre Desert Eagle gun is literally twice the size and your right, I see no practical use for it, I fired one shot and had no interest in firing another. It came as a package, probably about 10 Euros for a single shot.
Another participant fired the most powerful sniper rifle they had which cost 28 Euros for a single shot, Barret M99. I’m not kidding but 10 meters back with full ear defenders it was loud and and any bare skin you had, arms and face felt the shock wave.
Budapest is a favourite - wife’s parents left Hungary in 56, so we’ve been many times.
Been fascinating watching the changes since the end of the communist era.
A really powerful, poignant memorial that’s well worth visiting is the Shoes on the Danube on the side of the river just downstream from the parliament building.
Oh yes, worth searching out the ‘ruin bars’ in the old Jewish quarter/VII th district.
It is horrific to realise how cruel humans can be - especially when you see the shoes, which are incredibly detailed, appear to be all genders and ages.
Don’t think the Wiki page gives the true depravity of the actions.
I understood that two people would be tied together, but only one shot.
This evening we have been on a lovely dinner cruise with an impressive orchestra band playing.
We went to a ruin bar yesterday but to my surprise SWMBO hated it. She was in a foul mood but today she is game for a return on the way back to our hotel.
We cannot stay out too late though as we have a big push north tomorrow.

A long drive to mid Poland today, 4 countries and 4 supercharging sessions including the last one by our hotel, it was just luck that I booked it with a Tesla Supercharger. I knew the supercharger was nearby but not that close.

Two EV charging sessions today including my very first Octopus Electroverse charge at an Ionity charger. I tried it at an Ionity charger in France earlier in the trip but it would not accept it for some reason.
Nice small beach on the fresh or slightly brackish lagoon side of the spit.
Free 13A EV charge point at our hotel but was in use when we arrived. Managed to blag 1kWh out of it over breakfast.
Currently doing my second ever Octopus Electroverse charge at a shell garage. Nice to tap into the VB which is nicely filling up at home in our absence.
Today we will be checking out the resort at Sopot before boarding an overnight ferry to the land of ABBA.
