Don’t go looking for problems.

"They" the government, assisted by the police wish list, CLEARLY ARE ..that's the problem AGT, do you not see its over-reach potential whereby items are grabbed & it is up to you the owner to prove innocence, many will not have the tenacity to form fill & wait for a grey area decision to be overturned.

I don’t see a problem, I follow the laws of the land, have no ill will to people to look for bother, if i did have something on me as an oversight and was stopped, I would explain the situation in a calm manner and not make a big deal of it.

Depending on what I'm clearing/managing i might use a chainsaw/scythe/or, to clear the paths through 'the jungle', particularly of overhead bramble vines, i use a 2' machete.

Now i don't take my machete/scythe/chainsaw to tesco of course, but i do go along the public footpath that also passes over my land through 'the jungle'. I did surprise a lady walking her dog down there one year, but i just waved, smiled, said hello and so did she, and I went back to chopping bramble vines off - there was no issue.

But what happenes if the person on the public footpath happens to be neurotic sort, or a troublemaker? One hopes the police would be reasonable, but it's not unheard of for police to seize an opportunity for an easy conviction.

I stupidly followed law, openly, honestly with understanding from.research, ..it didn't stop me being seen as an easy nab & cps court date & conviction for something I didn't do.

Blind faith can also turn out to be blind ignorance when powers that be wish to utilise compliance for other purposes & rinse you so their books look better, after all knowing I was innocent of charges ,declaring in court to be innocent ofcharges laid against me & a judges mood, & assumption of guilt on his decision of likelihood didn't let me walk out with any faith of cops nor the court system.

& cops will likely brush off anyraisi g of the isue by stating the choice to prosecute was that of the cps. ..take it up woth them ..cops generally dngaf.
Over reaching powers given is prevalent within uniform or even council officers ..you don't have to be an oikto be treated (& charged) as one.
I hope you don't ever have to put that confidence to the test & thousands of pounds in order to attempt to get redress as the innocent "convicted" party! because it will hurt you very badly in terms of wallet health & relationships in all likelihood

Ok folks, time for a reality check,
You clear a bit of land next to your land due to it being overgrown, as long as the landowner isn’t making a complaint and you are doing this good will gesture for your benefit/community benefit crack on, I know I would.

There’s a nature trail behind my house and during Covid I did similar to clear overgrown weeds it’s not a big deal. So don’t make it a big deal.
