Just read that the 0% rate will only apply to new solar installs, sad news as many of us here must , more than ever , be thinking that adding storage to our existing solar systems is now making sense given the recent price energy price hikes.


'The Government has made the decision to cut VAT on installing energy-saving materials in residential properties from 5% to 0% from 1 April 2022 until 31 March 2027. We are also very pleased to confirm that the zero rate VAT applies to domestic energy storage when installed with solar, although retrofit or standalone batteries would still be subject to 20% VAT.'
