Home Assistant!
Re: Home Assistant!
A little more progress:
Kitchen Heater and Bedroom Heater have long been on smartplugs that monitor consumption, but I've never been able to make much use of the information. The only other smartplug I have that can monitor power is currently on the xmas tree, which isn't that useful because the lights are only 6W, so I might swap that one onto the boiling water tap. I'll put a shelly PM on the living room heater.
It'd be good to measure power going into the EV but the Shelly that can do this is £50 (the £10 ones can only do 16A).

Re: Home Assistant!
What charger do you have? A few have home assistant integrations available so you might be able to get the info without a separate meter.
I wanted real-time data at a 2s resolution so ended up putting my own modbus meter in, but the Zappi provides data every minute for example.

I have a decade-old Rolec that I have modified to be "smart" via a Shelly interrupting the CP.MrPablo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 1:23 pm What charger do you have? A few have home assistant integrations available so you might be able to get the info without a separate meter.

I've been eyeing up a Zappi for years...

Re: Home Assistant!
You can click the untracked consumption circle to toggle that on/off - any sensor really
3.43kW PV 15deg slope+ 1.44kW Off-Grid 30deg
82Kw Enyaq EV
ME3000-SP and batteries (2 x14.3kw Batteries)
MVHR
Triple Glazing
300mm roof insulation
Cavity Wall Insulation
Tado room stats
2 x Ripple DW + WB

Re: Home Assistant!
Great setup you have there!
What do you use as sensors?
It seems that more than 50% of your consumption is still "untracked", what is using all the power?

Re: Home Assistant!
I use the Powercalc component to create groups for monitoring much of my consumption.
Not much in the untracked anymore, but I am slowly tackling that by adding more power monitoring plugs (Athom UK C3 plug).
One last energy 'hole' I intend to tackle is the conversion losses in the inverter itself when charging and discharging.
This will fall into the untracked category in my case.

Re: Home Assistant!
Have you calculated the power used by the power trackers?MrPablo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 4:07 pm I use the Powercalc component to create groups for monitoring much of my consumption.

Re: Home Assistant!
Thanks. EV charging and cooking will remain untracked for me.MrPablo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 4:07 pm I use the Powercalc component to create groups for monitoring much of my consumption.

Next steps are: living room heater, washer, dishwasher, tumbler, and the SH in the shed.
