Yup, that's the reason I don't cage solar behind regular modern house glass 😉 ..but you have to see it for yourself to make it stick (lessons learnt n' that)

Early days solar of a famous but Shi-ite charger brand, boiled my battery experiment to death, ..the seller replaced it & I sold it onward (hopefully they changed their instruction manual before the company dissolved, as it was touting "behind glass" charging. which I thought nuts in the first place.

dark unit, full sun, no breeze, what could go wrong!? 😣

Look forward to seeing how balcony / wall hanging bumps turkish production up.

Just got in the door, sun streaming in, panel in vertical inside glass and 1.15A showing. Took it outside, laid it down flat and it went straight up to 2.5A+. :D

what does it deliver when vertical on the outside of the glass?
Practically no difference between the orientations
Horizontal outdoors 2.74A

Vertical outdoors 2.80A

It's great to see it charging the powerbank outdoors. Behind glass is a necessity quite often (sadly)! I'll try them both side by side in Turkey and the most effective one will come back to Scotland. :ugeek:

Maybe visit a framer / glass cutter.
They should know what's what (maybe even possess a UV meter)
Box it in & see what the result is then maybe mount box & panel through a wall for cabling & charge readings so it is less likely to suffer weather savagery?

Set up with 34% on the black unit and 51% on the white.

Just charging up my various 5V lights. Surprisingly SWMBO said 'good idea' to these. Admittedly she then shook her head and walked away. :D

Joe, you're winding me up inadvertently every time I see those charger pics (damn you to hell sir)

Surely it's project time with a clear safety glass layered solar table that when not in use charges in bright light removable battery packs built into the legs inside angles?

12 hours a day solar two hours for elbows n' food ?

of course it should be designed to be able to allow for small area coverage with a drink / plate / book on place as shading & modern tech ;)

Of course your wife will love it! (learn to anyway)

One is going back to Scotland and the other will stay here. There were two of the little standing lamps in a Migros over in Marmaris Feb. Going to have a look next week and see if they are still there. Should have bought them Feb!

I wonder if there's a rig that I could usb into x 5 and get some decent power out of? Thinking one of those over cup edge camping immersion coils.

Would 3x2.4A(batteries) + 2x2A(panels) (11.4A) @ 5V.be enough through an inverter to make a cuppa? Again, I know this isn't normal but if we don't strive to juggle what we can to our entertainment and benefit, what's the point?

Pretty sure there are 12Vdc one's out there 🤔.

Aw come on! How cool is that!
