Electoral commission reckons at least 14,000 people were turned away and denied a vote at the local elections due to not having the correct ID

The figures are not accurate as Polling Clerks in a lot of of places were not recording those who were turned away even though in theory they had to. Some people were turned away at the door and didn't get in to be recorded. A badly organised exercise all round.

Absolutely Beeman, ..sadly due to inepts in govt we excel in bolloxing up so much, even the simple stuff.

Likely very beneficial to those who instigated it.

It was even worse than that, apparently some voters were intercepted by party workers/"helpers" and didn't even get to the door as they were warned they wouldn't be able to vote.

Rees-Mogg admitted it was deliberate, akin to gerrymandering, and grumbled that it had come back to bite them because some of their likely voters hadn't got the id needed!
