Our street is full of cars today (guess many refusing to go to work)

The Millenium "tent" (costing £628 million was covered by National Lottery grants) has torn, the wind is getting under the PTFE glassfibre covering.

£628 million, ..that's a lot of wind turbines for a uk wide green energy project for the nation.

I imagine that's a lot of sickbags filled / spilt.

Doubtless some good aborted landing videos to come.

Seems eerily quiet here Joe. Only casualty to speak of was the tower scaff. Sure it’s not safe at a 30o lean

Anyway, couple of ground pegs and a ratchet strap gave sufficient security before re-build on Monday.

Who in their right minds would start a building project half way through February  Trouble is, SWMBO has a busy programme for me this year

My knees are getting too old for this sort of stuff.

Certainly is - just have to wait until next winter to see how the two rooms affected by the old bay, behave ‘thermally’.

I know it’s going to be far better (and given the size of the bay) it will have an effect on the whole house, considering the level of insulation elsewhere.

As with most of our projects  , there’s a knock on for a garden re-design.

The house sits in the middle of its plot - this is the last bit of garden (West facing, as we confirmed last night/today !) we (did I say we) need to redesign/repurpose the garden. This usually involves manually shifting mucho materials pre, intra and post build.

The North, East and South bits are already re-modelled.

This is coming up to the longest we’ve been in any house (9 years), so I need to finish it before that milestone and then enjoy the fruits of our labour’s.

Pretty gnarly here on the Garden Isle, 122 mph at the needles. Pine down across my drive, just considering whether to chop it up for firewood or plank it up for floorboards. Looks a bit soggy.
