Joe,

The "jump start" was that just a case of connecting the 12 Volt to the volvo to provide power to start the car ignition systems and then you could go or did they need to actually charge your 12Volt up to a reasonable percentage?

Could be a good use of a folding solar panel on the dash board for the future perhaps - although granted its not a set of circumstances you would plan to reproduce in the future.

oh and well done for bringing the good weather back with you again! whenever you come back from Turkey we seem to have sunshine down here.

The lad at the carpark tried with a jump pack but the car showed a shiftlock error on the dash and nothing would operate. I have no idea the soc of the jump pack. Hooked up the volvo and the I5 was straight up and running. We left it connected for 10 minutes to ensure the 12v had a bit of a charge. During that time I walked round to make sure the local 50kW charger was accessible and operational, it was. I may look into a jump pack in the car if it happens again. 😳

Saw the police doing a stop and search and two ambulances in that space of time during 1am walk, ah Paisley. Not changed one bit!

Glad the sun is shining for ye! We have wall to wall light grey skies although there is 1.2kW incoming so happy enough. :D

It's light enough cloud that it might just 🔥 off. Third load of washing on, EV getting a small charge. Very glad of that home battery buffer.

Check out whether the car can take charge via the cig lighter port (if one)
Otherwise maybe a split line from solar to the battery fuse feed & one of your solar panels left behind.

Just to clarify.

Does your handbook state anywhere that to be charged without fudging up systems elsewhere the (12v l/a) battery must be disconnected ?

Did you ever charge your leaf 12 v l/a. if so, how did it go (I thought mine was dead, it simply wouldn't charge unless removed) ..£94 needlessly down the pan.

There is s history of these cars with the 12v battery draining. Apparently the main culprits have been taken care of via software updates. The 20% soc on main pack is the first I had read of it (or been that low). I guess if hyundai software is querying the car a lot or the car does a big update (not that I can see one) plus standing for a month then yeah I can see it.

An integral PV roof panel would have been nice as fitted to the early P45 models.

Ah well, lesson learned! Back up the road early yesterday, watched Dawn coming up, bonny. Car on charge last night at 7.5p per kWh and IO handily gave me a 20.30 to 04.30 window. No complaints!

First crop of the year! The rhubarb is doing well on the Ash from the WBS. Apples trees are just blooming now too. They have also had a heavy over Winter dosing of wood Ash.

I was planning on doing the same with some of my rhubarb today, I like it stewed then put on my breakfast cereal.

Nice! I ended up making a Rhubarb Charlotte with single cream. Solar baked in air fryer and very good!

A very foggy start to the day which somehow turned into our solar pb for 23 from mid morning on, 50.25kWh, just managed to stay ahead of it all! :D

Also a couple of photos of the led soft light rechargeable magnetic backed light units (phew). Work really well at base of bed as nightlights. Can definitely recommend 👌
