Back in Edinburgh for an overnighter. Clocked this on the street, chatted to the driver. People give him space on the road and it does fairly zip away!

Just spotted the white model 3 in the pic! We did see a Ford Mustang E at a 16 bank charging station. SWMBO liked it, big boot. I think there were one of the banner mileage EV's when specced up? 🤔 A huge amount of EV's here in the capital.

Nearest chargestaion to us is a 5 minute walk and it's a twin 50kW & 10 22kW site.

Getting into this now. :D

I bought some bayonet and ES adapters to utilise some ses dubai style bulbs (4.4W).

Had a quick run through the house and came up with a good number of 16.5W old style low energy bulbs and a single 60W filament bulb! :o

Total Wattage replaced is around 160W worth across 7 bulbs. That has been replace by around 30W across the same 7 light units.

Three of those units are always on (thankfully not the 60W bulb). The three would have pulled 0.792kWh across a 16 hr day. They will now pull 0.211kWh instead. I'll happily save 0..5kWh every day thank you!

IF the three HAD all been 60W incandescent bulbs they would burn through 2.88kWh per day.

I am amazed that there are still gains to be made as the tech has advanced. Based on those 3 always on light units a year of 16hr day running would look like this.

60W =1,051kWh (yep, over a MegaWatt hour of power). :o
16.5W = 289kWh
4.4W = 77kWh

Kind of makes ye stop doesn't it? I'll be taking the remaining adapters out to Turkey and buying dubai style bulbs at the local supermarket. We'll you would wouldn't you? :D
I am very happy with over a fith of a MWh per annum even now. :D

Latest innovation in air con at my house. Window on tilt, draws in from outdoors and blows cooler air at my fat sleeping head, works well! :D :lol:

SWMBO did ask 'how much does that use' Embarrassing to say, no idea. Must up my game and try harder! :ugeek:

What's the diameter joe?

That type is the smaller version of our big boys that cool from downstairs up the stairs in the same night time manner (ours 120wh on max)?
The same ones we have said tilt it more or less directly up at the ceiling, if not weedy will "open window whole room ceiling breeze blast" rather than one cool spot of a general fixed point fan (that increases annoyance as the heat go's up by teasing the room as it oscillates a bit for a few seconds)

I have seen that the "peak priced, peak heat" metal fans (not bought out of season via farnell cpc) have been weedy regardless of size, so presumably saving money on the motor winds et al. (when I have compared a few) one of our originals has after 20+ years slowed down but still pushes heat from the conservatory

CPC Farnell & buy a metal hanging hook to bodge it in place if needed (the big one is not for bedrooms, but does a stirling job shifting night air through our cool stone tiled bathroom & onto a hot landing (for instance)

The really big boys were about £28-32 a few years ago out of season. very useful if the owners aren't myopic fools :roll:

The little one is 14? inch & we blow that straight up the middle of the bed, only resorting to air con for a few nights per annum (30c upstairs)

Looking at yours, IF your walls are decent dot n dab onto brick there won't be much resonance if wall hung, & the feet are rubber not plastic (something to consider, maybe)

It's about 14" right enough. 2 settings but only need one of them. On the low setting it is effective at at least 12 foot distance. I do hanker after an ac but I can't justify it to myself. The crosswind here does it for us and I go sit under treeshade in garden if it's too much outdoors. Weather has broken up here with 5 day forecast on rain on the app.

Checked this morning and the fan only pulls 28W setting 1 and 51W setting 2. That's quite good. On the other hand, WhatsApp in from my maintenance guy in Turkey this morning. Problem with main bedroom aircon. 🙄

We may be going for an inverter style upgrade in that room earlier than expected. Already had a control board replaced at start of season. May be time to cut losses. 8-)

Hey joe, has the "roller" solar canopy sunshade (stuck to the wall of a property) broke ground yet as to an occupied rental home market item yet? (obviously when fallow, demands are way different) ..what do you think grid contributions could be?

(& also a caretaker key for times of local grid stress so a bunch could be deployed locally regardless of whether "at home" or otherwise ..could be a non invasive grid assist for the holiday home complex builds, (I only have experience of one from my only ever hot canaries holiday, when not in a wetsuit & training in florida back in the day)

Would be interesting to see how big that is compared to the piaggio (see recent thread) for natural progression.

This is the latest version of "the beast" which when used on full blast, at a ceiling (or on a cold stone floor as the temperature assist) upstairs from the hallway is a godsend ...you wouldn't want it in the same room as you unless it was minging hot (& we have plenty of times & it is preferable to extreme heat)

WINTER PRICE DROP (IE now is the time to buy portable heaters) :lol:
