Will king Charles ram the green agenda home to accelerate change?

We know all about his letter writing, organic farming etc.

As he's not young, I've always thought he may simply aim at around a 5 year stint as king (expensive bang for theatrical coronation buck) before passing it onward to his eldest.

Anyone think he is going to create waves amongst the govt lick-skittles & demand more of what he sees as green progress at an accelerated rate (climate emergency not withstanding)
If so, what may be afoot for govt to give in to that they have held out on / demurred to do this far?

How far can Charles push do you reckon?

Perhaps by setting an example - solar and wind on all the land they own, solar on the roof of every property they own.

Hydro on the rivers that run through their lands and, perhaps, pushing for more offshore - thought the sea bed was all theirs anyway.

Let’s not have a navel gazing, contemplating, letter writing King, let’s have an action King leading by example.

Been a little bereft of effective leadership, in my opinion, for a while. Now’s the time for Charles to create a real legacy.

Will it happen ?

Nah !

Sadly he's away with the fairies a lot of the time. He hates anything that might be seen as a blot on the historic landscape, for a start, and has consistently put aesthetics above function, look at Poundbury as an example. Poundbury has cost an arm and a leg, way more than any other new development of that scale, because of the emphasis on making it look as if it's a few hundred years old. OK for those with loads of money, but not a solution for the real problem we have with housing today. Take a look at the many photos on the Wiki page and play spot the solar panel (clue: there aren't any): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poundbury

I would hope at the very least that he would weigh in on the fracking news and put a stop to that but reading the papers today it sounds like he will observe the lines between the monarchy and the governance of his people - ergo stand aside while Truss and that moron Mog run us back to the 70's

I wait to be proven wrong!

The Magna Carta treaty back in 1215 gave away much of the Monarchs powers to parliament, so apart from a bit of lobbying behind the scenes he cant do much. Big Rupe has much more influence TBH.
