I'm another that thinks these online petitions are a waste of time. However I don’t believe any of the above have ever been swayed but a petition before, so I feel it is a waste of energy.

Have any of them ever actually achieved their stated goal?
We should decide where the line is drawn. There are political topics that are relevant to this forum. However I’m not sure this is the place for naked partisan politics.
Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree, but when it comes to government policies that are intent on penalising renewable energy generation and promoting more fossil fuel use, as seems to have been the case over the past few weeks, then I think there is a valid reason to allow some political debate. As long as it's not strongly party political, and remains loosely related to RE and the reduction of our dependence on fossil fuels.
