Safe & secure ? ..my @rse

https://www.drapersonline.com/news/jd-s ... -data-hack

JD Sports said that the information that may have been accessed consisted of the name, billing address, delivery address, email address, phone number, order details and the final four digits of payment cards of approximately “10 million unique customers”.

The JD group, including JD, Size?, Millets, Blacks, Scotts and MilletSport.

Which is made worse by the closure of many retail stores & driving customers to buy online then pay to pick up from a physical store within the group!
(for instance I was buying petzl kit via blacks, picking it up from a millets miles away, or JD trainer shop ...which meant my details were bouncing around many potentially prone computers, not merely limited to one company...

last four digits were 1077, the price of a cheese pizza and a soda.

This will keep happening because there is no incentive for them to be secure.

Refunding me & all others now even more prone to phishing / card fraud would be the ultimate lesson.

Wife was "got" recently with charges to a store in the USA after a certain WATER COMPANY HACK in 2022

Boils down to us having to spend frantic hours changing security, arguing refunds etc due to companies incompetency ..they don't work for free m'lud nor do I ..thus my invoice for my time & distress
