Why not mention "Navitron"?

Mods, feel free to edit title or delete thread if required.

What's with all this "the other place" talk? Is there some legal/moral/cultural reason not to mention it?

I don't get it and I wonder if, without explanation, it could come across as a bit clique-y to new members who obviously wouldn't get it....

Apologies if I've missed something!

One of the owners of t'other place went after some of the mods from there legally when they set up Avalon. This was post t'other place closure. We decided to not give them the oxygen of mention, so they're not, won't be and indeed aren't.

On a personal note I wanted this to be a free non commercial entity that helps people purely for the joy of it and also entertain each other along the way. I also hope that the mods from t'other place pass through here now and then, very welcome indeed.

As there is said to be no spoon, so there is also no clique.

The only rule we really have is as The Buddha once stated. 'Don't be a bell end'. :D

If the urge to say the name of the place that is not mentioned becomes overwhelming (and it just might). Feel free to stand in the corner over there (facing into the corner) and whisper it as a soothing mantra. Quietly though so we don't disturb the others.

Enjoy!

P.S down in Edinburgh the noo, just taken this photo 10 mins ago. This is us! Drop the 'L', it's even better. :D

I always thought that was a shame. Doesn't shine a particularly favourable light on the previous place's owners.

They don't matter, they're in the rearview mirror and many many bends back, I agree though.

What annoyed me was the total loss of the archive of knowledge. It was as if your contribution over a decade was totally worthless.

Yes still available via the way back site but takes some practice to mine the pages you want to re-read
