I have a 2 year fixed contract with EonNext and for ages (about 18 months) they have been pestering and threatening me regarding getting a smart meter installed. They threatened to terminate my contract if I didn't have one fitted. Their was nothing saying it was a smart meter only contract when i signed up and nothing in my contract regarding having to have one it just says I may be offered one. The letters,texts,calls etc said how they were so good and all the benefits.

Anyway, just over 2 months ago I relented and had one fitted. All was great except he couldn't supply me an In House Display because, he said, as it was a 3 phase meter he wasn't allowed to book one out for the job. (The meter is exactly the same meter as Octopus have previously fitted on another supply I have and that came with an IHD).

I've been e mailing them since and still haven't got an IHD. Today i received an e mail saying;
"An appointment is needed for one of techs to come and set the IHD up. We can not and will not just send out an IHD for you to set up. Please give us a call so we can get this sorted for you."

It's very strange that a previous e mail said;
"If the remote fix does not work a replacement IHD will be suggested but this will be the Ivie Bud which Eon Next have partnered with to provide at a competitive price."
So you can buy one online and set that up yourself!!

I tried phoning to be told the complaint handler will have to ring you back!! Why they can't ring in the first place I just don't know, they could to pester me to get a smart meter!!

Coersion is illegal, a principal you may wish to send a solicitors letter to rectify "back to a previous state, until a proven working & viable system is agreed upon by both parties" ..type statement.

Small claims, resolver, " fear &distress" & impact upon right to a peaceful life ..bleh blah blah.

That will no doubt $h1t them up done properly.

It is well known that a smart meter is not to be forced upon householders, you have cause to blow this one out of the water if you see fit.
