Navitron Archive

Post by Joeboy »

Morning,

I've been chatting to Jack the last couple of days, a family employee of the company that was Navitron. I've been buying my stove consumables from him for years at the company Stoves & Solar which he formed after Navitron closed its doors and forum. There was a bad taste left in the RE community in the manner and aftermath of Navitron closure.

Keeping it sunny side up though, their demise was our Genesis and here we are three and a bit years later getting it done. :D

A lot of the bad taste was driven by the loss of the data archive, it was just gone one day (other than via the wayback machine).

Navitron did run from 2006-2021. That's a lot of time for chat and to build up a serious wealth of knowledge & experience.

Jack has taken the time and money from his own pocket to have that data converted into a useable archive and that is to be applauded.

Here it is

That's very good news. Please pass on our many thanks...
(And I wish him well for keeping the tubes on the market. Ours have performed faultlessly for 17 years now, I think, and if you are replumbing I reckon it is still worth incorporating them for the shoulder months when electricity needs to be saved for other more valuable uses!)

I’m trying to view it on my phone, I get the option for home/foeum, but nothing happens when I select forum?

Is this the same for everyone else?

This link should take you straight to the archived Navitron forum.

It is working a lot faster now than when I tried it first. The only issue I see is that some special characters like a quote mark appear as ' as an example. Nevertheless a sterling effort! Congratulations to Jack.
