Agile?

Is anyone here still on Agile, or have people all migrated to the various other weird and wonderful Octopus tariffs given all the EV drivers and heat pump owners and those with giant batteries to go with their nice PV systems?

We've all been having fun with the free "power hour" sessions in the last week or so, but I would imagine that Agile must be giving a fair few cheap/get paid to import slots at the moment too?

Intelligent Octopus for us with th EV and Octopus Tracker for No1 son who hasn't got an EV. Did Agile not have wild swings a while back and put folk off?

Recent tracker prices in NE Scotland.

No EV here, which might make a big difference to our choices!...

I'm still on Intelligent Octopus Flux [from starting in February] as it has the 2 a.m. cheap import slot - plus the evening peak export rate at nearly double that.
I was expecting to change to "vanilla" Intelligent Octopus for the summer but I have found that I need the 2 am top-up after exporting as much as I dare in the evening peak - especially before a grey day. So the 30p per unit IO export rate probably isn't worth taking as I would lose the cheap top-up and risk having to import at standard day rate until the battery had recovered next morning...

I could be wrong though, as it's my first year juggling these things!

Hi Dan, I follow the Agile tariff for my area quite a bit and if I do go ahead with a smart meter then that would be the one that I try as my first tariff. The reason for that being that a lot of the time I work from home so I can be there to charge the battery at cheap slots and we can run the house over the peak times off the battery and still role plenty into the EV via the granny charger, throw in the idea of export at 15p from any excess solar PV and it would seem to fit our energy needs very well.
