Hi
We are fitting a new battery storage system. Don't want to use Lux. Can the Solis hybrid be used without solar just as a grid storage inverter?

Can Solis Hybrid be used without solar?
Re: Can Solis Hybrid be used without solar?
Hello Ian and welcome to the forum,
Yes you can use the Solis just as a battery driven grid tie inverter subject to connection to the right batteries (not all batteries or chemistry are compatible with the Solis BMS) and of course having written DNO acceptance of your system.
Presumably you are looking at an AC coupled system charging from a grid source of cheap electricity to charge the batteries.

Thanks.
Yes just AC coupled on Go tariff using Pylontech batteries. If electricity prices go much higher we could add ground mount PV but that would mean loss of part of the garden. It would also mean pretty long DC cables. Not sure if there is a length limitation.
