Battery Lawnmower
Re: Battery Lawnmower
I've got the smallest Einhell 18V battery mower which is fine for my small patch of grass. The only design issue is that you need a gorilla grip to be able to pull the battery out for re-charging. Not sure why they have made it so difficult.
Same battery goes in my Einhell jigsaw.

Re: Battery Lawnmower
Is there room to make a galv steel (garden wire) tie around it to assist a pull device?

Re: Battery Lawnmower
Mower arrived late afternoon. Nice and lightweight in comparison to the hyundai petrol. Zero assembly instructions which is strange? There are only 9 parts, 13 if i include the batteries and chargers. It's all together and the batteries are charging nicely off the evening solar. I'll do first cut after we eat and report back on performance. So far it's a thumbs
Liking the positive sprung height adjustments, it springs up to full height on release and you push the deck down to required height. No more pulling against a load.

That Is ridiculous!
Cut the front lawn in moments. It's like running a frictionless hovercraft. Weighs nothing, looks like a toy, does the business though!
That feeling when you went from an ICE to an EV? Same!

Re: Battery Lawnmower
Doddle isn’t it
We now have the mower, strimmer, hedge trimmer and pole hedge cutter battery powered. Makes a massive difference without any reduction in performance.
Dave, whose been doing some hard landscaping for us, says that some of the professional gardening guys he knows are moving over to battery powered kit - still Stihl ( ) though.

1 charge cut front and back grass. I don't know how it managed that!
Used to use about half ltr of petrol to do both lawns. Glad that's finished with.

Much the same here. Its a few quid to set it all up but after that, just effortless. SWMBO is impressed.Bugtownboy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 6:32 pm Doddle isn’t it

Re: Battery Lawnmower
We’re a bit easier - have a lot of the lawn ‘wild’ with paths running through it. Remarkable the difference to the wildlife letting ‘wildflowers’ take over.
(Reduces the mowing too )
Re: Battery Lawnmower
Up here we open the gate to let the local sheep do the job until veg planting and then it’s back to the electric mower and the forty meter extension across the road
The sheep do an excellent if not messy job of the lawns most of the year and veg growing coincides with free solar power so it works quite harmoniously

Re: Battery Lawnmower
We have let the borders go a little Wild and left a couple of metres deep at bottom of garden to do its own thing. Lots of bumblebees and a full on nest with hundreds of bumblebees in hedgehog House. Love all that.Bugtownboy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 6:55 pmWe’re a bit easier - have a lot of the lawn ‘wild’ with paths running through it.
