Also fancying a visit to the scrappy to cut the sides off of a couple of washing machines, fold and fit as reflectors behind the unit, spaced out from wall with cut copper tubing as stand offs to airgap the wall.

Ah well, need a flue now.
Cleaned up nicely, glass and ropes in good condition, air in vents freed up with WD40.
I like the art deco finials.

Very tidy
Presume it’s a cast iron body ? Might be worth firing it gently at first, although if it’s pre-used should already be ‘run-in’

Re: Small things matter
Cast iron, pre used, free of charge too. Will be nice in the Winter nights down there. TBH, it's,never going to be run hard as the space is small. Just see if we can get it up to a clean burn and maintain low.Bugtownboy wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 12:52 pm Very tidy

A quite ridiculous 19th June temperature of 15 degs...
Loving the casual lower output WS use and 21.3 degs in the big room. Kettles on, cooked tatties. No worries!

Re: Small things matter
Not to labour the point.... This is epic, gravy is on, cooked some vegetables, kettle is on heating water for general use, clothes on line will get a final dry when they come on.
Incredibly satisfying, just a shame there's no back boiler element just ticking away
And to top it all off. 22.6 degs. Can really run it much lower than this efficiently. What a machine!
Up 1.3 degs in room in 1.5hrs.

Re: Small things matter
When I saw you’d bought another stove I thought you’d bought a boiler-stove to replace this one!

LuxPower inverter/charger
(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Re: Small things matter
Off to France tomorrow so a quick fish n chips tonight in the airfryer along with a few onion rings. Defo worthwhile working the RE thing from both ends, today has been about power conservation not generation (although there has been some). Sub 20kWh across both PV systems yet with the WS and efficient machines we are still heating water, cooking meals and generally getting on with it. Not touching grid in any way.

Re: Small things matter
'Bought' is translated to picked up for free. This one is for the insulated wood cabin. A further fallback position if all the lights go out. A smaller space with an OTT heat and cooking source. The boiler stove is a nice thought but I'm well covered by Upcoming WT2 in this regard, doesn't stop me scheming though!
Or maybe even yearning.
