It was mental Fintray, was kipping on the couch after the drive up from Dover and the rain bouncing off the roof woke me. T shirt off ripping the washing off the line, pegs everywhere. SWMBO came back from Morrisons like a drowned !

Re: Small things matter
We went out last night, by car luckily. 5 miles from home we drove through a storm that lashed down so much it was down into 3rd gear and creep forward, waited for the rain to stop before leaving the car. Got home, bone dry here, nothing at all in the rain gauge this morning.
A tragedy... we're putting waste water on the lawn under the apple trees (don't care about the grass itself, that will green up again when there is some rain.) Have previously been taking grey water to the spuds and also using saved rainwater for the seedlings etc.

It can be pretty nervewracking when the viz drops away.... Especially at speed. Rain came back for round 2 this evening. Panels have never been so clean!AE-NMidlands wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 5:23 pm We went out last night, by car luckily. 5 miles from home we drove through a storm that lashed down so much it was down into 3rd gear and creep forward, waited for the rain to stop before leaving the car. Re: Small things matter
Continues to pour with rain here so spent some time in the workshop with an old baking tray, side guard never used from a woodsplitter, a set of tinsnips and 4 pop rivets, oh aye and a hammer and 1 foot of wire.
Voilà, a rustic raincap for WS2 from repurposed old spare tat!
No sharp edges and bird proof.
I had a poignant moment when finding the rivets and gun in my old snap on top box. Hadn't touched them since I came North in 91 chasing a better life.
While I was doing that SWMBO cracked on with WS1 batch cooking chicken curry and the Chinese laundry is officially open for Winter!

The moral never through any tools or other bits away, they may come in useful .
My uncle was one if something had not been put to 3 different uses in its life time it hadn't been used properly

Good bit of bodgeneering there Joe
Good hand tools can last forever (well, almost) - my ‘favourite’ tool is a hammer that was my Dad’s. Instant connection every time I use it.

Re: Small things matter
We collected a marble hearth and back today. Next up is a large foc broken white good. A washing machine or similar to use as donor for heat shields.
I have a sawhorse that belonged to my Great Uncle, I get the connection everytime too.
