Well, 4 hours into primo burn of this reconstructed set of forgotten 2nd hand scattered shrapnel, verdict is in... Absolutely the bollocks! All the old junk is burnt off in & out. Burns with little discernable smoke at about 300 degs surface top temp. I've put 1 log on since half 5 and it's all now ember bed emitting. French scalloped WBS kettle (9 Euor Brocante find) is boiling so I'm off for a cuppa. :D

Cheers Iain, it was you I was thinking of in the grid fallover scenario(welcome if ever needed). When you coming down for a swatch at systems. I'm about most of next week?

Funny thing that. SWMBO & I are ongoing at the cabin and we have been speaking about the WBS2 and our earlier expectations of it. We both thought it would be a bit of a cabin gimmick, more a showpiece than a serious bit of kit especially at a ton and a half all in.. Old WBS2 has other ideas! The flanks of the stove are now sitting at 230 degs, the fire is crackling now and then, air draw is set lowish and its just incredible. Bring on Winter!

Getting tempted to camp out in the back end? If it gets much hotter here I'll be thinking seriously about kipping out on the lawn again... or in a tent if rain is forecast - or the midges are too aggressive.

We got a touch of the heat up here but nothing much. Always loved camping out, said to swmbo as we left France 'let's come back next time in EV with tent in back. Surprisingly well received ☺️. Stay hydrated man.

Once Winter bites (Sept) I fancy living for a few days in the cabin. SWMBO bought me a campbed as a kindness. Well I'm telling myself.it was a kindness. See if I can rediscover some of that awe in nature vibe.
