Hello Again

#1

Post by CharlieB »

Hello folks. Many thanks to Smegal for the offline headsup that the only forum I've ever really participated in is back up and running. It all looks reassuringly familiar. I think I've kept the same v unoriginal username from the olden days.

I've worked in clean energy innovation for 20 years as a pretend engineer (I do have a technical MSc but no formal engineering qualification) on how various novel technologies fit into existing energy (and transport, etc) systems. Over the years this has included: PV, Solar Thermal, Biomass Heat, Biofuels, Offshore wind (briefly), Wave, Tidal, Power Storage, Thermal Storage, CHP and demand-side-flex.

I've also got an 11kW evoco wind turbine, which miraculously is back up and running again after years of hassles, and we sell firewood on the farm.

I'll be mostly lurking on here, looking at energy systems geekery stuff and also checking out options for a drafty farmhouse we've recently moved into...

Good to be back!

Welcome, and you must give me your estimated annual generation for that puppy.
And any other PV you might have for my secret list, PM of you like.
Hopefully you'll find this place as nuts as ever. 8-)
