It says all the turbines are now operational, just a few final commissioning checks to be signed off. Should help with electricity supplies this winter!

Looking forward to the next UK wind record.

With the power issues in Europe this winter, I imagine less curtailment and more export to Europe which combined with higher capacity may help bring another one on.

If this doesn't get Europe & the outliers (us, norway, Iceland etc) energy comms & new storage means going better then I don't know what will.

As I'm not a high power electric transmission engineer, can someone explain what the "Reactive Compensation Station" is and what it does and why it's necessary for this wind farm?

Without going into complicated maths, it helps reduce lost energy in the grid transmission cables.

Its not magic, it just reduces additional losses over what you would normally lose with a purely resistive load.

Yes but its done with the inverters and even our domestic solar inverters usually have the facility to change the settings. I note that the settings of Ripple WT1 had to be changed in the first month after it kept shutting down due to DNO not liking the power factor at high outputs.
