Mr Gus You are quite right about reviews of things not always being accurate, I see it in a lot of things where the person appears to be the problem rather than the item under review.
WBS is an excellent case as I am sure everyone thinks its just a fire how hard can it be ? Well we all know the answer to that !
We are still steadily amassing winter fuel here but after an extended period with air temps in the mid twenties we are finding the cottage is still holding its warmth.
The last two weeks have been cooler outside with air temperatures in the teens but a quick check just now sows the bare stone walls to all be steady at 21.8 degrees C.
Outside today everything has a dew cover and the autumnal feel is very much apparent, aided by the shortening days, but we are definitely a few weeks away from me having the nod to light a fire.

We had an evening in the cabin last night. Absolutely glorious, flame gazing with a glass of red and some tunes.
Three hours and we used two logs ( about 1.5kgs total) one of which is in the bottom in this photo as the base log. This WBS is fantastic for this space, just run it slow on air once up to temp and it effortlessly heats the space. The air control is excellent and in three places on the stove. Could really make it roar but it's great at low and .

Re: Small things matter
All this talk of fires makes me want to light ours - as it’s 22-23C in the house, think it’d be overkill.
Just have to make do with cooking on/in the outside cooker this weekend.

29th Aug! Miserable, cold, damp day. Little power coming in, well a few kWh's across the day, down to 18.5 degs in the house. WBS cooking tonight! Kettles on!

Re: Small things matter
Autumn is definitely on the way!
Mind you, 18.5 in the house sounds OK to me, 22.5 indoors here and I wouldn't mind if it was a bit lower.

Ay, I think it must have been Boreas - we went with BiL & SiL (Glasgow) to visit the Dundee V&A. Also managed to meet my hero - Desperate Dan.
