Is this where we find out your next-door-neighbour is on Octopus Outgoing?
Maybe,

The "test" the SSE chap did was to see if he could get his mobile phone to get a signal in the meter box. He reckoned that if a phone got even 1 bar of signal then a smart meter should be able to connect OK. That's in the South, where the mobile phone network is used for the connection to DCC. I don't know how you could check if you're in the North where the lower frequency LRR system is used.
That’s good to know. We get about 1 bar inside the house, I have my phone switch to the WiFi indoors but the signal is there, just. sounds hopeful.

Octopus do a variety of tariffs including off peak and agile so you don't need an EV to move. I'm waiting for there to be some tariffs available once the Gov't sort out the mess they are creating.
Sounds like the way to go then. Good Energy’s tariffs are eye watering after the rises this year and we’re not covered by any cap

Apparently edf are doing an E7 tariff with 6.9p. That sounds pretty good.

That would be fantastic for us. a bit over 98% of our consumption is during the cheap rate period, thanks to the batteries. Just checked though, and it seems that, like all the others, EDF are not accepting new customers.

That's a shame, I was going to look at changing for the same reason.

Did you phone them direct? They won't do a quote on the website but will talk to you for moving.

No, I just checked their website and as you say, that won't even let you see the tariffs, let alone get a quote. I'll try giving them a call and see what they say, thanks.

The tariffs vary hugely by region. I'm in the north of scotland and I won't get any benefit in switching. That's 15p cheap for me. However other areas are down to 6p. Good luck.

The E10 rates can be found here https://www.edfenergy.com/sites/default ... ters_0.pdf

E7 and standard https://www.edfenergy.com/sites/default ... meters.pdf

It took ages to find these. Even the phone operator couldn't
