Hi All,
Looking for some guidance from the PV experts.
Currently have small 1.7kW system installed in 2011, on the existing roof- no room for more on this.
Last year I purchased some second hand panels 9x245W and sunny boy inverter that I hope to install on my garage, once I replace the roof..
While reading the forum, a reminder installs have optimisers, so a quick measurement on the space under the existing 2011 install could fit 3x 250w size panels either side of a dormer and possibly 6x250W on a recent extension roof.
I see Phase 2 garage roof taking place this year, just awaiting joiner and would fit the sunny boy, if once SWMBO is convinced about phase 3 more than likely a year later due to other jobs, I could fit another 3kW.
What kind of inverter/ optimisers would you recommend for 5kW of panels on different orientation and different angles assuming I replace the inverter from phase 2.
Later I would add batteries, but allow for space for them during the install.
I can deal with the electrics, DNO is Scottish Power.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and reply.

A Solar Edge system probably has the best reputation.
16.9kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 25MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3
