Is this like Ripple for solar? Sounds slightly different, but not too sure how to tell if it is genuine / sensible?

The company appears to be a bona fida Estonian company set up through crowdfunding.
But a 162 panel 56kW solar farm ?, that is one small pilot project !
The price is similar per kW as one of my quoted investment paid for a non subsidised solar park recently.
But its a leasing deal rather than ownership so if Zerofy goes south........................
And Estonia borders with Russia.
Interesting but for the brave I think.

How about we look out for a Ukrainian solar investment when the Orcs are beaten back into their hole., ..the Ukrainians need every watt going for the forseeable, I anticipate there will be EU backing & underwriting as part of reconstruction.
& We need to get the Russians to cough up for all of it, & an environmental penalty on top!
Wonder how countries bordering Russia now view their nuclear plants (& did Zaphor...... really only take a decade to build) !?
Wife worked last year or two (different job) with a brainwashed, not particularly old Estonian?? woman who lived & worked here, ..she wouldnt have a uk vaccine & insisted she would only get the russian vaccine ..which she duly did ...which by reports was a naff one.

Re: Zerofy shared solar- like Ripple for solar??
Hi there,
Someone on this forum sent me this thread and I'm responding to this on behalf of Zerofy.
Definitely a similar model to Ripple, but the main difference is that Ripple deducts the earnings from your utility bill. Zerofy doesn't have these partnerships, so you just get the money, paid out once a year. Our price data is based on Nordpool spot-market data, which is publicly available in real time on their website. You'll also be able to view your earnings in real-time in the Zerofy app starting in Feb. We have a table on our website that I've included below which shows electricity generation, CO2 avoided, and earnings based on a few different scenarios.

Happy to answer any other questions.
Thanks,
Hannah Griffin

That makes a great deal of sense to me, not least because it removes the need to remain tied to one energy supplier for a long time, something that really bothers me about Ripple.
I wanted to invest in Ripple, but we live in an area where a smart meter won't work, so Octopus were not a good option as a supplier (they are if you are lucky enough to have a working smart meter, I believe). That ruled out investing in what I thought was a worthwhile series of projects, as they have no other means of paying a dividend on the investment, AFAIK.

A couple of links which suggest Zerofy has been crowdfunded.
https://tech.eu/2022/06/08/zerofy-zeroe ... lifestyle/
https://unionlabs.com/portfolio/
They have had a Twitter feed since Dec 2019.

Anyone brave enough to part with 400 Euro's to lease each 345W panel ?
Note, their APP is currently only available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Estonia and Sweden.

The ripple model is young, ask them for progress ogb.
When another big energy supplier got involved for scheme 2, was that not expansion of energy providers getting onboard maybe? (advertising the scheme to its pre-existing clientele)
https://rippleenergy.com/suppliers
Read down through "do i have to switch" ..technically there are 7 companies in the mix or coming in, with eon being the biggest name.

Looking at their pricing structure, they suggest a break-even price of €0.07/kwh. Current prices on the Nordpool pricing link are at ~€0.15 to 0.17, which is fine, but pre May 21 they were below €0.05. So how much do we think prices are lkely to drop once solar / wind/ other renewables get off the ground and increase the % coverage, and the curent Ukraine driven gas shortages subside?
Not sure if being paid in € has any tax implications, obviously exchange rate will affect the return, either positively or negatively

well, the thread has an official rep of the company, so hopefully verification of that question posed.

This is a UK based forum and some of us are with Ripple and other Cooperatives which give ownership to us investors for wind farms, solar parks and hydro generation.
I understand that this is a leasing agreement so is a different model than we are used to.
My questions are,
1) Who is the owner of the Solar Park, is it you Zerofy or some other third party ?
2) If Zerofy ceases trading, what happens to the leases ?
3) Is the Solar park insured against theft or vandalism and storms (lightning strikes) ?
4) Does the 20% operating commission include any maintenance and repairs ?
5) Is the solar park impacted by the recent EU revenue cap at 180 Euro’s per MWh ?
6) Is any Estonian withholding tax deducted from the income at source ?
7) I notice the APP is not yet available in the UK, will it be in the future ?
8) If the APP is not available in the UK, how will I know how much the solar park has achieved ?
9) Do I need a European bank account in Euro currency to accept the income ?
10) How Is the income transferred to a leaseholder in the UK, is it a SWIFT transfer transaction ?
