and publicity now about a national one - starting tonight/tomorrow? https://www.theguardian.com/business/20 ... rgy-prices
National Grid indicated it could announce on Monday afternoon that it was issuing a requirement for consumers to use its new demand flexibility service from Tuesday, which rewards businesses and households that shift their power usage away from times of peak demand.

A bit worrying that they can't get all the data together? I thought Smart meters and domestic load shedding were the future ? Doesn't bode well ....

Another event tomorrow between 17:30 and 18:30, there is more wind but not much more.

I've made sure I've opted in this time.

I bet my father wins again without even knowing it.

I have opted in with Eon-next so I guess I will have indigestion tomorrow evening after fish and chips.

No chance of any energy in the battery, we have had a run of days with less than 1kWh, so it has sat at 10% for five days.

Oh wow, this feels almost targeted at me. I have just installed my first batteries. Right now 10Kwh is only lasting me until just after lunch as I only get a few hundred watts of solar. With a minor change to the SOC targets on my SunSynk inverter I just switched the battery to keep enough charge until 17:30 to easily cover this period. Means I will be paying for electricity in the morning but that is all the same to me. I may save a few KWh for the grid and even gain some points/money..

The funny thing though is the incentive is then to revert my battery back to the morning to ensure I always have a great consumption history at the busy time. I guess they need Agile to be back somehow competitive to encourage folks like me to stay away permanently from the costly hight consumption times. However here is where the biggest mistake has been made. If Agile was actually lower cost than the price cap on average, it would lose its price cap (assumption based on what happened to al the other intelligent tariffs). So they would ensure you never make a saving by doing the right thing.
