I do have a few advantages, I’m in the south, 51°and I have room for ground array. Being quite far North myself I have found that absolutely minimising the load drawn at home is akin to having another few panels operating at this time of year. Even on the scabbiest day the batteries get a tickle. Insulate, insulate, insulate sure but also do multiple wall of death runs around the house with a wattmeter and clipboard too.
The results may be surprising?

Absolutely, I try and push the load reduction as much as the shiny stuff. Not as much fun but when there's only a couple of hundred Watts coming in and a few are still heading to the battery, a nice feeling! Since we bought this plot of land in 2012 it's only snowed once. We had about an inch of snow overnight once, lasted until about lunchtime before it melted!

Our total grid import for November was 412.51kWh
PV generation = 243kW
Total energy consumption (house and car charging) came to 655.5kWh
Out of that total energy consumption, the car used about 106kWh, so the house used about 549.5kWh, or around 18.3kWh per day.
Most of that will have been used by the hot water (around 4.5kWh/day) and the 24/7 consumption of the treatment plant, MVHR and UV disinfection unit (total about 3kWh/day). That leaves around 10.8kWh per day for heating, cooking, lighting, running PCs, running the washing machine and dishwasher, etc.
At a rough guess, I think heating this month used an average of about 4.5kWh/day. We had a few days with no heating at all, but also a fair few days where the heating used close to 6kWh/day. That's mostly because we like to try and keep the whole house at around 21.5°C to 22°C, plus I seriously overcooked it a few days ago by running the heating during the day off the batteries. We had a day when the temperature was close to 23°C because of that little experiment.
Over the whole year we tend to average around 12kWh/m²/year for heating, so the expected total heating energy spread across the year should average out at about 4.27kWh/day, but that's compressed into about 5 months, so more realistically it comes out at about 10.25kWh/day through the winter months, so we are probably pretty much on track for a normal, or perhaps slightly lower than normal, year.

I'm in Austria at 47.4491382 latitude, though I don't have any generation here. Mine is at 54.8, 107 kW from a 3.75kW system (approx, don't really have access to reliable accurate data without inconveniencing others so tend to leave that for FIT reading time)
