Hi all,
Any recommendations for off-grid solar inverters please, and battery combinations?
Stick with Pylontech as the batteries or other storage tech?
Looking for 3-5kw solar system, with 10-20kwh storage - for off-grid workshop - lights, heating and power tools, etc.
Possible generator hook-up.
Many thanks
JC

Re: Off-grid inverter for workshop
Not much to choose between the usual suspects, IMHO. I'm happy enough with the Sofar ME3000SP, and their hybrid models, that have PV MPPTs, as well, seem to be just as good, as are Solis, Goodwe, Growatt etc. Usual slight issues with interpreting the manuals, but there's a pretty good user base and there are people here that have experience of most of them, I think
Real issue is availability, demand seems high and it's a matter of chasing around to see who has stock at a reasonable price, something that changes frequently as ships land with new stock.

Re: Off-grid inverter for workshop
Hi,
Thanks, as suspected.
I went with a second hand SoFar ME3000SP and works well at home on the grid tied system.
Will probably go the second hand/ebay route for the off-grid system.......
Thanks

Re: Off-grid inverter for workshop
Good luck finding something reasonably priced on the used market! Demand is high and availability of new stock is thin. This has pushed-up demand for used gear and stuff that was previously hard to get rid of, is now attracting a bidding war.

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Have a look at what I use https://www.photonicuniverse.com/en/cat ... uired.html
I have been running it for a while and added batteries later, I do most of the controls with home assistant now instead of the crap software that comes with it.

Specs look pretty impressive, I might have to look at that for a future upgrade routedlw wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 6:45 pm Have a look at what I use https://www.photonicuniverse.com/en/cat ... uired.html
