Cooked a lamb balti with scotch bonnets yesterday on the WBS. Around 6 hours slow cook time yesterday, left to soak overnight then another 4 hours today. Also as slow cooked as I can today.

I have went the cold soak route for the rice (thank you lads). Cooked on the WBS in a crazily quick time. I'll finish it off on the induction hob as pan fried garlic rice to go with the lamb curry.

I reckon this will have cost about 1/10th kWh electricity to cook the whole meal. Very satisfying and the smell wafting over from the WBS is mouthwateringly seductive. :D

Bostin, Joe ;)

Nothing quite as exotic, but we roasted a cauliflower for a cauli soup and then roasted a Butternut squash with Onions and Garlic to make a Veggie Snake - basically butternut squash, onions, garlic, peppers, chickpeas, cous cous , and feta seasoned with Ras-Al-Hanout then wrapped in filo.

Had to bake the snake in the oven, unfortunately.

Agree, it’s great having the heat with something spicy plipping away and scenting the room.

Suppose it also re-humidifies the room !

Enjoy your evening! :)

Garlic fried white rice with Turkish red cayenne flakes for colour and a little Phzazz! SWMBO & I were just talking about our little time in India and how quickly it becomes the norm to be eating hot hot breakfast food with sweet tea. Sublime times!

That's another intriguing potential euphemism! Baking the snake sounds fun to me... or maybe not, could be quite uncomfortable!
p.s. any risk it could lead to a bun in the oven? (Sorry, I'm a bit slow but I do try...)

1.2kWh of power generated from PV so far today. Strange how I have grown to really appreciate those small volumes of power coming in. Today we used that 1.2kWh to bake a banana & coconut loaf in the airfryer, run the radio so the home is full of classic fm and flatline the drop off on the home battery soc. Might even see a slight upward tick in the soc, fingers 🤞. :D

It's good to be in the moment 😌

Edit- woohoo, soc is on the up!

Was off dropping presents to the folks house ( central location for siblings to do the same)

Advised that brother 2 just installed solar on 2 elevations and a battery, all the years of ‘preaching’ the Green news finally paid off.

That's great to hear. My biggest deal when running PV at the start was reducing background load. It allows us to see small gains even in truly unfavorable conditions. Might be worth mentioning to your brother?
