It's is absolutely chucking it down here, bear in mind where I come from for context.

It's blowing a hoolie so blazing. Calmer day, not so much. Still nice to have and massive airgaps in the roof/front windows interface. It did give me cause to pause though, well spotted!Bugtownboy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 10, 2023 7:04 pmIf it works, why not - can’t help thinking it’d be a bugger to get it pulling when lighting. Looks like it’s going well now, though.

Re: Off adventuring!
Well that's the stack down to 32% soc, it has lasted a full six days and a handful of hours to this point. I'll switch the grid charging back on for this evening.
I'll get a handle on the charging capacity within the new shortened Go window. Should be something like a 48% lift in soc expected.
I am continuing to make PB's at the least expected times and readjusting my expectations upwards.
The house used 1.5kWh of power from the grid in the 6 days which is down to inverter demand and its response time, it also discharges a little to grid but as i get 'last in the door' FIT I can live with that!
18.96kWh discharged from stack plus the mighty 9.4kWh PV generated during test is 28.36kWh ÷ 149hrs.
Works out at 0.19kWh background load.
That's not bad considering the GCH is set to maintain and the 2 fridge & 3 freezer units in play.
The remainder is network boxes(4), phones and a TV box.
This leads me on to the Nowty VB effect, did I or didn't I charge it?
Fair to say the answer is an obvious 'yes' but by how much?
1.5kWh Electricity 18p
102kWh gas £6.12
Fuel cost during test £6.30.
258.28kWh generated at WT1 £24.89 value.
£18.59 into the VB!
As I'm sure you see, none of this is critical but it was a nice wee test to run from out here and as my expectations continue to adjust I stand agog that my house/WT are running at a net gain in January in Northern Scotland.
Okay, got to remove the people but that's a mere detail.

Re: Off adventuring!
Aha! The BigBlue unit has arrived with what looks like a B grade sticker on it.
Luckily I simply couldn't give a , game on 4 testing Sunday & beyond in the full face of the snow! 30 day RTB in my back pocket
Had a lovely getting towards the end of it all evening. Last 3 personal airfreighted steaks thrown on the gas bbq, damn the count. On balance or to slightly nibble at my carbon count we bought 1kg of green lentils. I'll be cracking on with soup on the WBS in a couple of days.
SWMBO's second eye has really kicked in. It's absolutely mental. As the surgeon said 1+1 doesn't always make 2. For Catherine it has made 3, for me 2.5 (overjoyed).
She's like Roland of Gilead now but with much sharpness.
Me n Big Man (No1 son) are coming back Mid Feb to get his eyes finished. Me n SWMBO were literally test runs, game on!
Quadrophenia blasting on the 5V systems!

Re: Off adventuring!
Sadly no.but I have seen a few if them knocking about the supermarket or down the front having coffee and I stop and say hi, nice kids.
The fact of actual contact seems to light them up which leaves me feeling nice.

Re: Off adventuring!
Had a look at my Octopus account to see how much power the batteries took last night. I wish I could screenshot with my phone. The count for the 4 hour Go window is.... 12,884.92kWh.
I'll drop them a line.
The battery capacity test ran for a full 7 days. In that time the battery stack dropped from 100%soc to 28%soc, In the Go window this morning it hit 88% soc and it charged at 3.4kW so 13.6kWh in. That's close enough for me as a battery capacity test knowing the 88% soc 'pause' on the Pylontechs and the extra headroom in the LF280's.
I guess it's just wait for solar now.

Re: Off adventuring!
Several folk on FB have reported a similar issue. Octopus have said its am internal glitch (to Octopus) when they did some comms hub remote updates.
The data from the smart meters is unaffected and will be refreshed. Saying that, I think I would be dropping them a line too.
