My small-scale ToyTown solar station is doing well!
There's just something very groovy about the sub 5V potential.

Re: Small things matter
Tested the units once charged a couple of hours. Dazzling is the word! The pics don't capture it but it's plenty for the job.

Re: Small things matter
Which DIY shed is importing those then!?
(packaging looks English retail spec)
& it's nice to see the panel angle is changeable.

Re: Small things matter
Bought from toolstation. Can be had for less on a Google search. but I went to toolstation for the warranty.
Which was handy as one unit was preopened (it had a charge and the bubble wrap was missing being the indicators). It has a strobing effect when a hand passed close to the sensor. I got in touch online and they are sending out a new unit. Luckily the object has as to be a couple of inches from sensor for it to strobe so its a 3rd unit for free for all practical purposes!

Re: Small things matter
Tuesday 16th Feb 2027..sweepstake to failure day
(& based on estimated lifespan of mine to date)
..sorry, couldnt resist!
I get concerned with non spring battery compartment solar lights, because, shortcuts by chinese production "if in doubt send it out" bad solder to battery "practise" & the atypical numpties who fail to understand "charging, winter sun, direction, shading" etc ..see many amazon reviews as your starterfor ten points.
& at least with a springload batt you canremove & charge, esp if a vaper / battery nerk. & have it ready full powrr sample output in a few short hours.
& upgrade the battery of course / replace it over time.
Wonder how they deal with solar lamp returns in more scandi type winter sun at a danish BAUHAUS store.
