Not sure what demand there is at this time of day but just checked NGL and it's currently 39.6 GW's so just wondered if the national appeal is having any effect?
Until 6pm when presumably demand will shoot up from all those who had been participating!
Today's one hour energy saving session.
Re: Today's one hour energy saving session.
The sign up was for a reduction of 337MW.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 27MWh generated

For the record Octopus energy
Today January the 23rd
Were paying their Agile Outgoing customers .
30.58 pence a unit to those that provided power between 1700 and 1730
and
33.03 pence a unit for that provided between 1730 and 1800 .
As they presently want 33.73 p/kWh even after midnight from me to replace what I might have contributed.
I am afraid I have refrained from helping out .
Such is the state of the market at this present time.

Re: Today's one hour energy saving session.
Your feeling the effect of the interconnects.
"live" DFS run and NGESO has Drax and WBA warming even though the system is less tight tomorrow than today.
France will want imports both in the morning and evening. Lots of eyes ona CM stress whilst that's happening, then you'll see some lovely agile price.
We got this comming anyways.
I dub it the beast from the e...b....artic.

Re: Today's one hour energy saving session.
5th time trying to post, forum gone a bit wonky last few days for me..
On R4 just before 6pm, they spoke to Octopus, the hour from their participants saved was roughly the equivalent of a city's useage (Glasgow, apparently)
So if we had the big "however many are left" participating then it could be quite something in theory.
No idea how many non octopus participants added to that reduction, don't need a smart meer to turn stuff off.

Thanks to some weak sun yesterday, we were still on battery through the hour!
Will need another bright day for the hour and a half session this evening

Re: Today's one hour energy saving session.
I think the reason why Agile outgoing is not going over 34p / kWh is because if Octopus buys power at a more expensive price in the market the government will refund them the difference. If they but it from you at a higher price they wont get a refund so the price will never rise above the guaranteed price. So expect it to go up in April when the guarantee cap is raised.bxman wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 6:42 pm For the record Octopus energy
