Are ripple owners just sitting waiting for govt to take fiscal pot-shots at us or are there active groups forming with a plan& some sensible mp 's behind them?

Joeboy wrote: Wed Jan 25, 2023 9:14 am Up towards midnight tonight or very early hours tomorrow should be crossover into PB point. :)

Next few days look good too.

I'd hope for commission as they go at Kirkhill but think the DNO will have the final say and it will be a one shot for the lot. Excruciating wait! :o
Congratulations on having the closest guess Mr Smug. :D
Not sure which will have been the most excruciating wait - the eventual arrival of that PB or final commisioning date. :)
But have to agree with you, Kirk Hill's generation is desperately needed. For while in the first two weeks of Jan our total generation approached two thirds of consumption it's subsequently fallen off a cliff so the ol' VB has taken quite a dent as a consequence. Thank goodness daylight hours are beginning to stretch out now.
Agreed on daylight hours, not getting much at our location but its enough to keep the optimism high if not the soc. Hoping to crack 6kWh today, tbh I have to keep reminding myself its January. Not that long ago this would have been a real bleak time. Now with big array, extra batteries, WBS and not forgetting VB I can just about stepstone my way through most of it.

Once KH is up and running it will be to directly quote Nowty 'mental'. I'll keep my hour of smugness on standby for later. :D

Looks like we are likely to end the month on a CF of over 40% which will be a premium over the baseline CF of 37% for Jan.

This one for OGB if he's still knocking about here incognito. It was on Ripple's community page in answer to a do i/don't I question about smart meters. Might help for people deciding about going into Project 3 too.

'You do not need to have a smart meter. The only additional extra you'll be able to do with a smart meter from Octopus is view your actual consumption data next to your generation data on your Ripple account dashboard once Kirk Hill goes live. Not all customers like to try to match their consumption to the generation but for those who do, they find it really useful to be able to monitor it in this way. But in terms of your bills savings, no smart meter or additional kit required.'

Personally, I am not going to link my consumption per Octopus, with my generation per Ripple. They don't need to be given the permission to share data and know whether or not my estimated annual consumption, given in good faith, and my actual consumption are within the the 120% parameter. Thank goodness for GPDR.

Separately, Ripple have confirmed to me that as long as my estimated annual consumption was given in good faith, which can be evindenced, they won't question different outcomes. Eg cutting back on EV usage because of cost of living crisis or postponing installation of a heat pump because of doubts over their efficiency v cost ratio. Thus I am ok but shall probably not be able to invest in WT3 or SF1. I guess that I won't be the only one in this situation.

Perfectly happy with the take in January if a slight wet fart towards the end, even happier at the thought of 09.00 @ GF 13mph v's KH's 26mph. The futures so bright...

Also wondering if the per kWh for GF will ramp up 1st, 16th or at midnight 31st March?

WT1 is looking like ending Jan on a bang tomorrow, first time in a while.

Probably ending about 5% CF above baseline for Jan at just over 42%.

I will publish the CF graph when we get the final figures.

Just checked back through Ripple community posts and the 27p per kWh generated applies from 1st March.

Try multiplying your predicted annual generation by the new figure for a pleasant yet shocking surprise. :o

If my estimate holds true in year 2 It will be a 41% ROI with year 1 start up issues a thing of the past. :D

The ideal scenario would be a calm Feb spawning more saving sessions, balanced with a gale force March.
