My plan to entice the Octopus via the IO tariff to extend me the early in day adjustment slot 5am to 8am on the 19th all at cheap rate worked. Normally 5:30 to 8:00 would have been at peak rate but I've just received the bill for that day.

Another DFS test event is happening tomorrow morning between 9:00 and 10:00. Almost certain that Octopus will be in it but I will post again as soon as the accepted bid document is published. So potentially another early start but at least I may be able to persuade the Octopus to extend my cheapslot time again.

I'm going to let the wood burner go out.
Just adapting my Arduino frequency diverter sketch so I can set the lower Immersion element to come on once the top is up to temperature. Air to air heat pump is on to heat the house.

Hmm makes me think. Nowty as you also have a water distiller, can you do some comparable math for my 2 units at 25 litre capacity each (please & thankyou)

I can then get an idea for water & beer brewing purposes (both units are grainfathers) time to look at the cost difference using low rate timeshift versus normal. may improve our useage.

Octopus have had some bids accepted at £3000 per MWh so I expect the Saving Session rebate to be around £2.25 / kWh. On the strength of that I will start to re-programme my battery inverter and move my grid import from earlier in the night to the 5am to 8am in day adjustment slot.

I've opted in. Yes £2.25.

I wonder in the future if they may start being selective on who they ask to opt in based on what they have bid for?
