How is garage forecourt fuel supply round your way?
..Cambridge has had some unstable types shrieking, & shoving I note.
Is this the time to sit in your EV by a forecourt (with a picnic) & chat ev benefits to strangers!?
The smart car is full & I bought a fill for 3x 5 litre cans a few weeks back anyway.
I noted someone in the media commented that there are 600,000 lorry qualified drivers who don't want the job.
Then I heard a minister say that driving a lorry is an *increasingly well paid job* ...through it all they continue to lie their @sses off.

Spoilsport Gus, can you change the thread title to:
"How is the petrol station supply round your way?"
So I can reply - 'What's a petrol station?'
[Sorry, is it too soon for BEV smug mode?]

Went to Tesco yesterday in the dirty diesel. Tank was a little over half so no reason to buy fuel. There was a decent queue but all pumps working and I saw a fuel tanker pulling in as I left.
Fuel isn’t like toilet roll. Once you’ve filled up you cannot physically buy more. Many people who drive only a few miles a week will have a car sat outside their house with a full tank. I predict fuel sales will be lower than normal in the next few weeks.
Looking forward to the BEV arriving to rid me of all this nonsense.

Now we have two EVs I couldn't give a monkeys.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 27MWh generated
6 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 520 m3

You are forgiven Mart (after all I am a man of the cloth ..for real*)
I shouted out to the wife as to whether she wanted to wind up "those who ICE us" today
Stinsy, The year 2000 fuel shortage was a literal "gas" though wasn't it!? (remember all those gas conversions)
*The internet is a very strange place, & I do not perform circumcisions.

Re: How is garage forecourt fuel supply round your way?
Tried to fill the Golf up yesterday (2 litres left in the tank), but Tesco was out of diesel when I was there and when I got home the petrol station in the village had a monster queue outside, so it's just sitting on the driveway. That eventually hit half a mile long (not helped by being on a roundabout so people queueing completely blocking all through traffic), and by this morning they were completely sold out.

Dunno, but the BBC had a little chuckle about it -

Where's a copper when you need one? ..would have thought there would be a "little" presence to put paid to this, should not be allowed to block roundabouts, time to "take a number" ticket access in the big supermarket car park across the road.
Might have to go & stand by the garage with £20 per 5 litres sign on my cans. "cough"

Re: How is garage forecourt fuel supply round your way?
On a serious note, can you see a govt " fuel card" in your vehicles window for priority pump position & dispensing?
Compared to shouting "I'm a nurse & I need to attend to keep the local hospital going" ..if covid takes us further down this winter.
I assume the litres dispense limit can be auto set from within a petrol station these days, or does it really depend on "compliance" !?

Lots of things *can* be done. Examples:
- Number plates with an even number can fuel Monday/Wednesday/Friday and odd numbers Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday (freeforall Sunday).
- Maximum transaction 20 or 30 Litres.
- Fuel ration books issued
