How much information are public charging points supposed to give you?

Charged up yesterday at a GridServe charge point at Membury Services. Was surprised not to be given the total kWh or cost, only the duration, 31' 54". There seemed to be a running total of some 25MWh displayed but I didn't see any reason to have noted it down at the start, was I supposed to?

Given that the old Weights and Measures Act certainly governed the accuracy and display requirements of petrol pumps when a colleagure was working on the first electronic ones in the '70s, what features are mandated for electric car charging points?

"Can I receive a receipt automatically every time I charge?
Yes, you can sign up to get a digital receipt every time you charge with a particular payment device. Firstly, you must go through the process of finding your receipt and then you can sign up for all your future charges on that card or virtual account number"

Thanks. Receipt downloadable from here. Would still prefer the amount to be displayed on the charger itself like the Swarco ones. OTOH if you do want a printed receipt from Swarco you have to phone or email them, why is there so much variation and isn't it regulated?

What is their excuse when put on the spot? (ask for an official response to a concise question)

Using the thread title as a search key doesn't result in any useful links that I found, sorry.
