They used to let peoplee smoke on planes for gods sakes! ..so surely theres a solution being sat on.
Yep, even done that myself.
I was a very occasional smoker and flew to Tenerife back in the late 80's with a friend who insisted on having a smoking seat. I didn't want a smoke but had to have one to immune myself of the smoky environment.
When I tell SWMBO and daughter about that, they just don't believe me.

Another reason we get fleeced on replacement bike batteries for pedelecs in the uk, or pow banks bigger than 20,000 mAh is the lack of inertia resolving transport logistics with properly designed packaging, & dodgy electronics whereby the safety is utter ballhooks, & where liabilities need to lay.

Up and about making a cuppa and I literally plugged the powerbank into the PV and the popped over the hill before I'd poured the milk. Casa De Turkey is officially an RE home..
Runs powerbanks, phones, WiFi hotspot, portable lights and soundbar although it can't help in making a cuppa.
As I can't simply bring a powerbank home I now have 185,000 mAh of 5v battery storage. That should outlast any power cut.

All three powerbanks linked up and charging from the panel. Sadly the really large white unit isn't battery storage!
My count yesterday was wrong, we have 217,000 mAh battery storage here. Its handy not worrying about rain by hanging off inside. Next time I'm here ill hopefully have the usb inline power meter from China and see the difference between glass and not. Yesterday the PV charged a phone, a 10,000mAh small powerbank which had lain dormant for 5 weeks (beginning charge unknown) and while we were out put 5% charge into one of the 60,000mAh banks. Tomorrow we are in the village/house all day so I'll try an outdoor charge into the lowest state powerbank and see what it gets to chasing the sun.
Edit- it's a cracker of a day so put it all outside to get 4 hours in the sun while we're away over the mountain. Starting from a figure of 236 out of a potential 300. Interested in what this unit will do.
Any guesses? I am hoping for 250.

Have you worked out whether these are protected cells or not yet joe? (in the absence of a usb meter) to allow a decent Lowest percentile DOD sticker to be placed & adhered to within your available power rating.

The units have internal protection.

I may have been over exuberant in my first day predictions on three batteries, one of which is brand new, on a 28W panel in February when one unit represents 600 mAh...
In saying that, reversing the suction cups has made it a wall rather than window clinger.

Sun has just passed the yardarm and the count is 242, a gain of 6 (3,600 mAh). One of the batteries was unopened (last sorry Gus) and seemed to take quite a while to move off its starting percentage (54%). In addition I linked the batteries forgetting that the PV unit has 4 usb output ports built in. Dropped down to two batteries and ran individually and they seemed to respond better.
All in all, quite happy that I have myself a small solar show out here. Tomorrow I'll try harder and weather allowing will see what it does mid Feb when i'm focussed. Ignoring the scale granularity issue for gauging results and my initial hook up I am charging my mobile phone off of solar harnessed electrons right now regardless and listening to A momentary lapse of reason, all solar powered.. That is outstanding.

The phrase "ah bum" is hovering in my mind, at least it won't go to waste joe.
One day, they'll catch up with what is safe & what is not, & then restrictions will be that bit less..
I'll be dead by then of course.
